I’ve decided to start my own themed weekly posting, called Idea Thursday. The concept is based on Shannon’s
Backwards Works-For-Me Wednesdays at
Rocks in my Dryer. On those backwards-themed days, people ask for advice or tips about something, rather than blogging about their own helpful tips. I find these backwards days so helpful that I want to start doing it every week. This will only work if YOU comment, though, and give me your advice, tips, suggestions, and/or opinion. Thanks!
For today’s Idea Thursday, I’ve been thinking about devotional books. I’d like to start a daily personal study, but I need a guide. Something with a workbook would be good. Do any of you have a favorite? Ideally it would be a daily study, 20-30 minutes of reading and reflection. Please share with me any study you’ve done that you really liked, or studies you’ve heard of that sound interesting.
Thank you!

Great idea! This question is easy for me. We just finished a ladies Bible study at church on the book, Walking by Faith, Lessons learned in the Dark, by Jennifer Rothschild. It was definitely a life-changing experience for me! I blogged about it a couple of times in my daily devotionals on my blog. We had the video to go with it, but even if you don't have that, it is so rich with scripture and insight (pun intended- you'll see). I would highly recommend it! In fact, I bought one for my mother for her birthday. Shhhh. :)
Hi Jeni, I found your blog via Tiffany and Sandi. Our small group recently went through Philip Yancey's book, What's So Amazing About Grace. I really thought it was a great study.
