Prayers, please...

I'm in shock.

My world is reeling.

I know it's true, but I have such a hard time believing it.

We got a call this morning that our preacher's wife, Evette Allison, died suddenly at home. Suddenly doesn't begin to describe it. Evette was only 33. She got up in the night to check on their fussy toddler, and stayed in his bed with him. This morning he came toddling out of his room by himself, and his Momma was dead.

Jason, Evette's husband, now not only has to cope with this sudden bereavement, but he has to take care of his three children. An 8 year old girl, a 5 year old girl, and an 18 month old boy.

Please, please, pray for Jason and his children, and for the entire Allison and Lynn families. Our God is great, and he can do great things, even (and sometimes especially) in tragic circumstances.

woah...what to write!?! I just couldn't read that post without letting you know I'll be praying for you! I totally stumbled upon your blog 'cause I saw you have a girl around the same age as my little one. I am already praying for your Church family and pastor's family. My heart hurts just to imagine the loss you all are experiencing. May you FEEL God's arms wrapped around you!

We saw him today and the children. They really need our prayers. My heart is aching as I see them try to "figure" this out. The oldest is really having trouble. I cannot imagine their pain!

I will let you know if I hear of anything. I am still at a loss for words. I, like you, think she will come hopping in with some funny story to tell. My heart aches for our loss. Her girls are so sad and Jason is broken. The coming days are going to be terrible!

I was reading your blog...since you left a comment on one of my posts.

And I come upon this...

This is not something that an emotional pregnant woman should find. I am in tears over their loss. You are all in my prayers.

We may not know the whys, but we know who is in control over it all...and that will bring peace.
