Questions...

Okay, my bloggy friends, I have questions for you:

1. For our small group next Sunday, I'm supposed to bring a fingerfood with meat. No sandwiches. Any suggestions?

2. I'd like to get a toddler-sized outdoor playset for Wendy, but everything I've seen in the stores is WAY expensive. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Fingerfood with meat...I've got an idea. How about little smokies wrapped in bacon. To make these yummy treats, wrap each little smokey in bacon and secure with a toothpick. Put all smokies on a foil lined cookie sheet, preferably one with a lip, so as to catch all the juices. Sprinkle with brown sugar and bake at 350 for about 30-45 minutes.

What about little smokies or meatballs? Both can be served with toothpicks.

I always fall back on the pigs-n-blankets. Roll little smokies in crescent rolls and bake ~13 minutes. You can usually get 3-4 out of each crescent roll triangle. You can take a dipping sauce, also if you like.

Paula Dean's sausage biscuits are wonderful. You cook little sausage patties, then take a can of biscuits, split the biscuits in half and put each half in a muffin cup. Then you cozy one of your wee sausage pats down into the biscuit and bake it. The biscuit cooks up around the sausage, and then it's impossible to stop eating them. Serve them with orange marmalade. (Sounds weird. Is delicious.)

Hmm, good ideas so far. My go-to dish for this kind of thing is pigs in blankets, but I wanted something different this time.

Keep your suggestions coming! :-)

To find anything for sell in your area try craigslist.com. You can browse the stuff for sale and/or post a wanted ad. Good luck!

How about bacon wrapped water chestnuts? Wrap bacon around whole water chestnuts, stick with a toothpick, then bake. I'm not sure at what oven temp or for how long, but I KNOW that recipe can be found on the internet somewhere!

Or something with shrimp?

Meatballs are always a good choice or you could go with a turkey and cheese wrap in a tortilla. That may be too sandwichy (is that a word??)

My vote would be stromboli -- I'm making it for my small group this week -- you can find the recipe on my blog (just do a search).

Or sausage balls -- you know the Bisquick, cheese, and sausage mixture? Yumm!

Sausage balls are good and spicy!

We have a MOPS market that is a kind of outdoor giant garage sale. Do you have a lot of garage sales in your area? Check them out--that kind of stuff goess quickly, though, so you have to be early.

And Yes, I will and am praying for you!
Much love,
holly

I like to take ham slices, spread them with cream cheese, and roll up a pickled asparagus spear (or a dill pickle) inside and slice into spirals. (Just visiting from Sandi's blog)
