On those bad days, I do a few things to help me cope with the sickness. Some of them are probably common sense, and some may be TMI, but in any case, here they are:
- Pull back my hair. I don't want to worry about hair dangling in my face when I'm getting sick. Pulling it roughly up into a clippie helps a lot.
- Dampen a washcloth to have at the ready - if I have time.
- Have an empty bladder - again, if I have time. Because pregnant lady + full bladder + violent vomiting = could get messy. Ew.
- Use a trash can/bucket/whatever, not the toilet. Curling up on our freezing cold bathroom floor & caressing our questionable toilet is not fun. It's so much nicer & more comfortable to sit on the toilet or on the edge of the bed & use a trash can.

I hope you are past the morning sickness soon!
Try ginger and peppermint! Sometimes they help!
I hope you're feeling better soon!
I had that all-day sickness, too. The only thing that helped me was Seabands - those bracelets they sell at drugstores for seasickness. Those calmed the nausea amazingly well. If you've never tried them, I'd highly recommend it.
And if you have and they didn't work for you, well, you certainly have my sympathy!
I would try ginger cookies or tea, and remember to eat small frequent meals. I only got sick when I waited too long to fill my tummy. Such a hard thing to wrap your head around that when you feel icky you should eat. Good luck!
some are going to laugh at my comment, but my boss found out that what worked for me worked for her. . .try sour stuff. For some weird, unknown reason, when I was pregant with my son and couldn't keep anything down (no matter what I tried), if I sucked on a lemondrop, etc., I could manage to not throw up. It worked for me, but I'm sure it won't work for everyone. . .GOOD LUCK!
I can totally relate. I get it pretty bad when I am pregnant too. Thanks for sharing what works for you, I had never thought about not using the toilet, i'm going to try that next time!
I usually prefer to throw up in something other than the toilet too.
Thanks for keeping it real. Hope this all passes soon!
The idea of someone caressing any toilet, questionable or not, made me laugh. I'm so sorry that you're so sick!
So sorry you're feeling awful! I think it's amazing that you're being efficient at feeling awful. Sending good thoughts!
Don't forget that something cold, like a soda can held at the pulse point in your neck can sometimes ward off nausea!
